Luka's personality is really hard to understand, but that might just be because of the situation he's in. In order to understand Luka now, you must understand the way he was nearly ten years ago when he first was proclaimed "dead".

Luka was quite the saint in his previous life. He had been quite a refined social butterfly. He had many friends. He helped anyone, no matter who they were, and often would speak up for equality for all of the races. He once did a report on how if everyone was treated equally the hatred between the races may subside but people were too damn stubborn to admit it. Yes. He used those exact words. In a way he gained the respect of some of the darker races, and hatred of some of the lighter ones. But despite that, he would always go out of his way to help whoever was in need, be it a poor kid on the street, or some stuck up rich kid that had dropped something. Luka was humble, and humane. The definition of kind and generous.

Among all of that he was brilliant, despite his young age. He often stayed after and taught multiple students different subjects they might have needed help on. Also he had been on the student council, pushing for changes of the school policies to make life easier for the poorer kids. He almost never did anything for himself, giving all the time and was always very surprised when he received a gift from a classmate or a teacher or anyone for that matter. On top of that he was also rather active in the business community, taking after his father's role, being an heir to his company, learning what he could.

And to one person, he was the world. He was the only one that treated his younger half brother with any semblance of respect, often reading him stories, sneaking him sweets, or any food for that matter. He was the only one that remembered to bathe him, or bring him the occasional pillow for him to sleep on so he didn't need to sleep on the cold metal floor in the cage his parents kept him in. Sometimes he would break Akira out and take him out to the garden, teaching him how to read, write, speak. Luka taught him everything, and even gave him his name. Soon though, once Akira had matured a bit, their relationship became a little more than brothers. Luka had never corrupted his brother, neither of them ever going past a tiny kiss or two before Luka would have to leave. At school he always talked about a pet kitten he had found abused on the street. He had named this kitten 'Kida', after all, he couldn't go around talking about the things that they were doing to his brother.

Now however, Luka's personality has almost done a complete double take. He's rather cold-hearted at times, having been told his brother had betrayed him, taken his place among their family. His hatred and his undying love for his brother is tearing him in half, and he has yet to figure out what he truly wants to do to him. He has been taught to hate everyone, though he still yearns for equality. He still yearns for peace, for kindness. But he's not finding the ability to do such things. Riku had filled him with constant hatred, controlling most of his thoughts and actions. His ability to think for himself, the way that he used to, is slowly diminishing. Luka has two faces, one filled with hatred and the ability to kill, the other is the kind young boy he has always been. However the two of these sides often fight with one another. Luka is really trying his hardest to work on this. Kyrarei has been a great help, and Luka is slowly returning to his normal self.

[attr="class","temptabinf2"]Luka's hair is black and feathery, probably down to nearly his shoulders by this point. His face is usually soft and gentle. His eyes are the most interesting part of his features though, other than his cat ears and tail. His left eye is green, while the other is a dark blue color. No one really knows why his eyes are like that, but he was born that way, and he's always been looked at as special instead of different. Luka is 5'2" and 128 pounds. Due to his kind features and small stature, Luka is often mistaken for being much younger than he really is. Luka is rather thin and lanky, which he supposes made it easier to work for Riku, and currently makes it easier to work for Kyrarei. He usually wears anything that he wants to. These are usually dark colors like black or a blood colored red, though he also likes dark blues and greens as. Luka prefers to wear long sleeves and pants.

On the backs and palms of his hands, he has These Seals. He usually keeps them hidden under fingerless gloves, concealer makeup, or long sleeves. There are deep and ragged scars on both sides of both hands where Kyou had attempted to destroy them. However, the marks are starting to come back on top of the scar tissue.

[attr="class","temptabinf3"]Luka was born to a rich man and his wife. The heir to his father's munition's company. When he was four, his mother fell into an emotional break, after his father brought his little brother home, after Akira's mother had died in childbirth. For years he studied and trained, in both the ways of a sealist, and the ways of his father's company, as well as took care of his little brother when he and Akira were both old enough for such things. Luka was a brilliant student, almost always finishing with top marks, and most of his teachers were very impressed.

However, because of all of the time spent with his younger brother, Luka never surpassed the year he was supposed to in school, after all, he had no time to keep up with advancing his studies, learning about what power he might develop, and teach and raise his brother. It was just too much for one person to do, but somehow he managed, and almost always with a smile on his face.

Once he was around 11 or so, things got harder for him. He was diagnosed with a heart condition, which both of his parents devoted most of their money to medication and trying to get him fixed, but he was afraid of surgery, so he always refused, choosing to go through painful medical expenditures and treatments instead. On top of that he learned that he was not an elemental like both of his parents. His father had brought in a teacher for him, a rather special one, to teaching him about sealing magics. He sat one day drawing with Akira in the basement, having escaped his studies for the afternoon. He had started with a circle on the paper, then symbols that seemed to appear out of nowhere. After he had finished he put his hand on the mark, the whole room lighting up with it's magic. Soon after he and Akira had learned that the seal his brother had created was one of protection, and Akira always kept it on his person, trying his hardest to keep himself from harm.

Later on in life Luka's relationship with his younger brother improved, turning into more than just your average sibling love. Luka had taught Akira what a kiss was, what happiness was, what love was. He soon learned of his brother's power of emotion and used it to teach him those feelings better, focusing all of his energy on trying to restrain Akira's power for as long as he could. But the beatings his father gave his brother seemed to negate the effects of his seals, either by breaking them or by some other sort of magical force.

Luka soon returned to school, owning up to his previous reputation, being a brilliant student with top marks, training hard with his power, and always keeping up or even surpassing most of his studies. He always helped others, and soon joined the student council.

He had a sudden attack in class one day, his pills having been switched out for sugar pills earlier that morning. He was rushed to the hospital, where Riku made him appear dead. It was announced to his parents later that day that their son had passed on. However, Riku had found a look alike and killed that boy in order to keep Luka in his possession. The look alike was buried with Luka's name on the tomb stone.

Luka had awoken in the home of a scientist later on that week, his medication having been restored, but he realized he couldn't really move. From that day forward he underwent torturous experiments, grueling emotional distress, and everything else that was needed to transform him into something he was not.

Many years had passed, and Luka was released back into the public, but this time he had an objective. An objective which he could not carry out.

Kill Akira. Become known.

He failed at killing his brother and was punished for a few months for his disobedience. After he was released once more, he was ordered to find more people to be put into Riku's little experiment.

After another few months, Luka was rescued by his brother, and he and the rest of the pets were released into society, even though Riku had tracking devices on all of them, he never made a move to retrieve them.

He soon joined up with Akira and Amos, and an ex-lover of Riku's to kill the son of a bitch. They had almost succeeded, but Riku managed to escape Akira's wrath. Luka had been rather injured in this process, and Riku had sent Rishe to collect his prized experiment. Luka awoke in Riku's clutches again, and once more he was forced away from his brother. For two more years he was tortured and experimented on.

Once Riku thought he could trust the boy to once again do as he was ordered, Luka began to track Akira's location. During this time, Luka met up with Kyrarei again. Luka recognized the albino from many pictures that Riku had held onto over the years. The two of them came up with a plan to fake Luka's death again, as much as Akira would hate it, he couldn't know. Luka met with his brother the day he escaped with Kyrarei. With his death successfully faked, Luka was brought to one of Kyrarei's many compounds. He was operated on and given a whole lot of medications and special training to get him back to a normal state. With the chip out of his head, he was free. No longer under Riku's control.

Kyrarei took him in and made him one of his employees, and after awhile, the heir to his businesses, as he had no children. Luka still works for Kyrarei, and now that Akira is with him, he finds himself happy with his life for the first time in almost a decade.

Luka was alright for awhile, doing his best to live a relatively normal life. But he just couldn't do it in the end. He had started in a relationship with Akira and Michael, but seeing how hard his brother was falling for this person, Luka decided to try and take matters into his own hands and tried to kill Michael. Of course, he hadn't expected him to survive the attack, and as much as he pleaded his innocence, he just couldn't hide it from Akira. But he and Kyou both got into it pretty good later that night, and Luka fled. He ran straight back to Riku and was a good little slave for a good long time.

But the longer he stayed, the more he plotted Riku's downfall. Eventually, Luka made his move and rallied a bunch of the other pets and kicked Riku and his followers out of the labs and took over. Riku ran with his tail between his legs to another location, not that Luka really knew he had made off with much of anything at that time.

Since the Pet War, Luka has been building his own army. He has his own set of experiments and his own researchers. But unlike Riku, he promised those that followed him would have their freedom in the long run, and he does intend to make good on that promise in good time.

Luka was captured for the matter of a few hours, though most of his followers probably barely notice any change in him, but he is really different now. After all, he got all of the good and evil stripped away from him, making him a completely neutral party. However, he is still very set in his ways and is determined to finish what he is doing with the pets and projects, and is determined to still make Riku pay for everything that he's done.
