Humanity has always been aware of gifted people. These certain people have something within their genetics that makes them different from everyone else. Somewhere in their history, they have a being that was capable of using magic. This has passed down from generation to generation, giving their families the ability to use magic. Only within the last 150 or so years have the humans actually claim this to be true, and have accepted it as a part of their culture. Before that, these gifted people were hunted down and persecuted, accused of witchcraft, deals with the devil, and all sorts of other things. But humans were weak, and eventually, the overwhelming evidence of real actual magic pushed them into accepting it.
But where there is power, there is corruption...
Our story takes place in modern day London, England. There are a lot more of these truly magical beings around today than there were 150 years ago, and the world has done all that they can to accept this fact, and everything they can to integrate them into society.

Important Goings On
OUT OF CHARACTER! BACK TO 1.5! Yep, that's right. I revamped the entire site, AGAIN, because I am an indecisive bastard that has no idea what I'm doing. So just after the war happened and just as the Rift opened, for those of you that remember those things, however, Pure Daemons are no longer a thing, we have something new planned for the Rift, stay tuned! A lot of information has been re-added to the site, and about a year has passed since the last revamp. Anyways, just make sure to read the information if you haven't been here since last year.
IN CHARACTER! THE RIFT This is currently a thing in progress between me and a sister site, but we have something much more in store for the Rift this time around. So stay tuned!

In the year 2012, a mysterious illness began to sweep the globe. In its wake, those who survived it were left with immensely powerful supernatural abilities. As the number of people capable of wielding magic powers increased, they began to organize and seize control of the course of history. Using their powers to travel between parallel universes, these mages forge empires of a scale never before seen. And at the center of it all is the Academy, a neutral institution founded for mages to share their knowledge with each other. Mages struggle against each other to impose their will upon the multiverse, but there is one threat that unites them all together. In recent months, mysterious entities have appeared. These entities wield power far greater than any one mage, and they seem determined to annihilate all of humanity. The mages will have to set aside their differences in order to beat them. The fate of the multiverse depends on it. Features- Multiple parallel universes, both historical and completely original, with the opportunity for players to create entirely new ones. - A high power level that places the players at the top of the multiversal hierarchy. - A diceless, strategic battle system to let characters fight for control, change the universes, and mix things up for the players. - Site-wide event battles where entire worlds hang in the balance. - A character-driven plot with direct ways for players to influence and expand the setting. - Options for players to keep certain details about their characters secret from other players. - No word count and no pressure. |
