Humanity has always been aware of gifted people. These certain people have something within their genetics that makes them different from everyone else. Somewhere in their history, they have a being that was capable of using magic. This has passed down from generation to generation, giving their families the ability to use magic. Only within the last 150 or so years have the humans actually claim this to be true, and have accepted it as a part of their culture. Before that, these gifted people were hunted down and persecuted, accused of witchcraft, deals with the devil, and all sorts of other things. But humans were weak, and eventually, the overwhelming evidence of real actual magic pushed them into accepting it.
But where there is power, there is corruption...
Our story takes place in modern day London, England. There are a lot more of these truly magical beings around today than there were 150 years ago, and the world has done all that they can to accept this fact, and everything they can to integrate them into society.

Important Goings On
OUT OF CHARACTER! BACK TO 1.5! Yep, that's right. I revamped the entire site, AGAIN, because I am an indecisive bastard that has no idea what I'm doing. So just after the war happened and just as the Rift opened, for those of you that remember those things, however, Pure Daemons are no longer a thing, we have something new planned for the Rift, stay tuned! A lot of information has been re-added to the site, and about a year has passed since the last revamp. Anyways, just make sure to read the information if you haven't been here since last year.
IN CHARACTER! THE RIFT This is currently a thing in progress between me and a sister site, but we have something much more in store for the Rift this time around. So stay tuned!

Pet Abilities
All pets have these abilities shoved into them by Riku, or Luka, sometimes both. Usually it's a serum that messes with their genetic code. Other times he replaces body parts or organs. All of these powers are Level Two Abilities. They do not change or level up. Luka's pets and projects have additional default powers.
There are also abilities that can be chosen from, to be added, in addition to the main powers and default pet powers. Riku's pets may only choose from his list, Luka's pets and projects may choose from either list.
Default Pet Abilities - Riku
NIGHT VISION
The ability to see in the dark
ACCELERATED REGENERATION/HEALING
The ability to heal and recover faster than usual, from injury, illness, exhaustion, etc.
POWER DETECTION
The ability to detect other abilities. The user can tell what abilities belong to what people
MINOR TELEPATHY
The ability to mentally communicate with others by planting and receiving surface thoughts. This is used specifically for Pets to communicate with each other and with Riku by using a special device in their brains, or to Luka via Seals.
ENHANCED ABILITIES
The ability to use heightened senses, taste, touch, sight, sound, smell. The ability to use heightened reflexes. The ability to use heightened jumping, climbing, flipping, etc.
Default Pet Abilities - Luka
ADOPTIVE ACTION
The ability to perform an action, or series of actions, after seeing them performed, without much training
ENHANCED STRENGTH
The ability to carry a bit more than an average being, up to almost twice body weight
ENHANCED SPEED
The ability to move a bit faster than an average being
ENHANCED RESISTANCES
The ability to resist drugs, alcohol, poisons, etc. It doesn't render these things completely useless, but it is harder to be affected by them

NECROMANCY
The ability to create undead beings by returning false life to corpses
ILLUSIONS
The ability to create illusions
HEMOMANCY
The ability to manipulate ones own blood
ELECTROKINESIS
The ability to control electricity
UMBRALKINESIS
The ability to control darkness, shadows
PYROKINESIS
The ability to control fire
CRYOKINESIS
The ability to control ice
ANIMAL SHIFTING
The ability to turn into animals. If you got this ability as a pet power and not naturally, it will be unstable.

The ability to heal the wounds or illnesses of others

The ability to control poisons
POWER ABSORBTION
The ability to absorb and use the power of another being. Each time a new power is absorbed, the previous power is dispelled
SCRYING
The ability to use reflective surfaces to spy on a target
AQUAKINESIS
The ability to control water
SPIDER CRAWLING
The ability to fasten onto and climb vertical and horizontal surfaces without falling, regardless of surface texture
