Shiranai Huzaki

Power 1:”Boon of the Huzaki Clan” - Super Speed. Power Level: Intermediate

It seems all members of the illusive Huzaki clan have some form of this ability, and the entire family’s training has centered around this power for generations. Like those before her, Shiranai dominantly uses this ability to execute her family’s famed Blade Arts, a collection of secret techniques taught only to the Huzaki heiress up until her rite of passage contract.

Power 2: “Grim Grace” - Spider Walking; Power Level: Beginner

Both an innate and acquired ability, Shiranai’s training aided her in latching on and staying on otherwise unclimbable surfaces. While she never managed this for more than a few seconds in her youth, the development of this power is one she credits to her training, and it undoubtedly has aided her in her assassinations.

A power sleeping deep inside Shiranai. With enough dedication and effort, it may reveal itself.

The abilities that Riku throws into all of his pets. Night Vision, Accelerated Regeneration, Power Detection, Minor Telepathy, Enhanced Reflexes, Senses, and Acrobatics.

These powers do not level up. They are between beginner and intermediate.

Pet Ability: Intermediate; Umbralkinesis

The shadows are a deadly tool, and one of great use to an assassin such as Shiranai. Fervent in her training of this ability, she quickly found new ways to use it within a relatively short time, and while some would have her believe she cannot master it any more, she is convinced otherwise.

With white hair and eyes that seem to shift in color from green to blue, Shiranai’s very appearance is sometimes considered a phenomenon of its own. Shira’s everyday appearance generally consists of a black shirt beneath a small red jacket, a belt around her waist generally holds the sheathes for her twin katana on either side as well as her short samurai sword horizontally along the back, and beneath this is the accompanied tanish-yellow skirt. Around her neck is a collar of sorts, and she wears a pair of black gloves on her hands. The gloves usually smell quite heavily of detergent and various other chemicals, most likely to mask the scent and color of blood. While on the job this attire changes to a black jumpsuit, the belt exchanged for one specifically designed to create as little noise as possible. With this attire she also wears a black cloth to cover her nose and mouth, leaving only her cold eyes to gaze into her target’s soul.

On the left side of her neck is the Huzaki family crest, which grants her access to quite a few areas in the world’s underground. The mere existence of this on her skin grants her access to places many people only hear rumors about.

Her blades are exquisitely crafted by Shiranai herself, and have a small cover on the bottom of the handle to hide a brand for use to mark her targets once they have died. The blades of her katan are a dark silver in color, with a line reminiscent of blood running down the middle of each blade. The handle is covered with black cloth in much the same way most other katana are, save for the Huzaki crest in the small space of the lowest gap in the cloth. An S is engraved above this on Shingi, and a G is engraved in the same spot on Giri.

Saying Shiranai is cold would be an understatement at best. Conditioned to take the job more seriously than even her own life, she is relentless in the kill, and doesn’t feel any more alive than in the moment right before it, and this trait has persisted despite her new status as a Pet. The only objects she shows any attachment to are her blades, although the common consensus is that she’s merely a kuudere at best. Her general tone of voice has an air of authority to it, hinting to her lineage, and she values honor above material wealth, a trait befitting a Huzaki heiress.

In social situations, especially those with other Pets, she feels as though she has to put up a facade of sorts. Were it her choice she would distance herself as much as possible from both Riku and the rest of the Pets, but living in solitude is not an option she can currently afford. She is prone to choosing honor above her own safety in a few situations as well, something that often gets her in a bit of trouble with Riku. Due to her training as both a samurai and a ninja, her skills triumph above all in honorable combat, and she takes her skill very seriously.

In Shiranai’s mind, taking an innocent life for no reason is one of the most dishonorable acts someone can commit. However, under many circumstances has she found a reason. Even in the Huzaki household witnesses were not tolerated on missions, the family’s only tie to their kills being the symbolic brand left ceremoniously on the foreheads of their victims. Each brand is made unique for each member of the Huzaki clan, with Shiranai’s being a depiction of the family crest above the lettering SH-H. Standing for Shiranai Huzaki-Heiress. This is one of the things she has refused to let up on time and time again, but she has reserved it for her defined target, making clear who her goal was.

Shiranai is everything one would want in an assassin. Lethal, quick, soundless. Her lifelong training has benefitted her greatly, and even under Riku’s care she refuses to let up on this. However, she doesn’t forget crimes committed against her. Not even if the would-be criminal is one she considers family.

Legends tell of a clan of assassins hidden away in remote areas of the world, sharing their secrets within their families and paving a path for their successors to continue the traditions set forth by the founders of their clans. One such clan is the Huzaki Clan. Trained from ancient times in the skills and mindset of both samurai and ninja, the members of the Huzaki family tirelessly work from the time they can walk until their sixteenth year in the fine art of the kill. In Huzaki tradition, the eldest daughter of the current matriarch is selected to uphold and inherit all the Huzaki Clan holds. Nineteen year ago, the girl selected for that role received the name of Shiranai.

Raised on the Huzaki estate high in the Himalayan Mountains, Shiranai was trained far harsher than her younger siblings in preparation for her role as Heiress. As one might expect, being the Heiress of such a well-feared clan of assassins was an honor few had the chance to know of, and as such it was one that Shiranai took with extreme seriousness. She tried as hard as humanly possible, and in some cases, as hard as inhumanly possible, in order to achieve her destiny. She worked tirelessly, going out of her way to further master the art of stealth required of a ninja, while upholding the code of honor and swordsmanship of a samurai. By the time she was 13, she was hailed as a prodigy in her family, having mastered the use of the katana and showing advanced proficiency in all other weapon styles, including unarmed combat. One year later, after learning the second to last of the Huzaki family’s Blade Art secret techniques, she was given the responsibility of overseeing the training of her other siblings… including that of her older brother Ryouji. She proved more than a match for her overzealous brother, who quickly became furious that he would be second to a girl of no more than 14, whereas he was nearing age 20 and had been training far longer than she had.

It was this fury that festered and grew into hatred, and from that hatred spread a desire to ruin Shiranai’s chances of being the Heiress, so that the title may go to one that Ryouji felt he could manipulate himself. As hate so often does, Ryouji had begun to believe that he would be a far better leader for the Huzaki clan than any of his younger sisters, and as such sought to remove Shiranai from the situation… completely.

Two more years passed, and Shiranai had only continued to progress. The early forms of her second ability had started making themselves known, allowing the would-be Heiress to latch onto slick surfaces and fight on ice with superior skill to any in her clan. The praise she received from this only fed Ryouji’s anger, and so he set up a scheme that would end with Shiranai being removed from the clan.

However, not everything went to his plan. The day before he had decided to set his plan into motion, Shiranai received the one thing she had been eagerly awaiting since her sixteenth birthday: her first contract. The first contract is a rite of passage within the Huzaki clan, as it marks the end of the student, and the start of the teacher. After the completion of her first contract, Shiranai was slated to officially become the new matriarch of the Huzaki clan… something her older brother was determined to stop. The target for her contract was located a way away, however, in the areas surrounding the city of London. As a result, Shiranai was to board a plane and fly to the London airport, where she would rendevous with some of the family contacts before undertaking her assignment…

That was the plan at least, but Shiranai’s plane never reached London. It went down only three-quarters of the way through the trip, shot down by an unknown force before it could reach the city. Shiranai was pronounced KIA, but no corpse was ever recovered. While the Huzaki family mourned, Shira was destined to embark on another path, and she awoke months later in an underground lab in London. One that was hidden from public view, and run by a man Shiranai only knew of as Riku for quite some time.

Like most of the others she began to know as Pets, Shiranai was augmented beyond her normal ability, and granted another power to accompany her current two. It seemed the man named Riku had done only a slight bit of research into her capabilities, or perhaps he had noticed the Huzaki crest tattooed on the side of her neck. Either way her testing in the labs was almost startlingly familiar to her training at the estate, and she passed with marks higher than any of her peers in quite the variety of areas. From then on she remained at Riku’s beck and call, his personal assassin as soon as she was allowed out into the open world. Time has passed since then, two years at most, and the ghosts of Shiranai’s past have returned to haunt her.

She has a list now. Five names in total. Beginning with her first contract, the one which will signal her return to the assassin clans of the world. One that will state a message: The Huzaki Heiress is not dead, and she has returned for vengeance. The last name, that of the man who brought her plane down. That of the man who swore to take her place.

Her brother, Ryouji Huzaki.

-”Coodere”. Will mostly ignore love interests up until the point she becomes hopelessly infatuated. If engaged in conversation, she’ll probably not speak too terribly much if she appreciates the person’s company.

-Her blades are named Shingi and Giri, meaning Loyalty and Honor respectively. A G and an S is emblazoned on the handle to identify each blade.

-Her interactions with XVI may have hinted that she holds a certain fondness for the boy, but she fails to state this outright.

-The crest tattooed on her neck is an identifier of her descent. It depicts the tribal image of a six-shooter’s magazine, with twin katana crossing in an X on top of it. The magazine is colored red with a black outline, and the blades of a similar coloration. The letters SH are inscribed at the bottom, her initials, a foolproof way of identification. The tattoo cannot be removed through normal means either, and is made specifically so that it is near impossible to replicate.
