The ability to communicate with animals via specialized telepathy 

Unlike the rest of her family, who were born with the ability to take the form of an animal, Ki was only born with the ability to communicate with them, making her the "runt of the litter", or so to speak. Though she doesn't really mind her lack of animal shifting, as her ability to talk with animals allows her to take better care of the animals in her care at the shelter, and figure out what, exactly, they need.

Power 2: Power absorption, beginner

The ability to absorb and use the power of another being

Ki developed this ability during her early teens, and is still yet to be able to use this ability to its full potential. Currently, she is only able to use basic elemental and physical abilities, and doing so puts a significant strain on her body, so she tries not to use it often.

Ki stands at roughly 167cm tall and weighs about 56kg.
She has long, brown hair that has been tied into a long braid. Her hair appears to be a lighter shade of brown at the top compared to her hair from the shoulders down. She also had light brown dog ears, and the same colored tail, which she keeps covered with a long, grey hooded jacket. She also has deep blue eyes.
Ki prefers to wear a pair of long jeans and a black shirt beneath the jacket which keeps her animalistic features hidden, and a pair of yellow and grey sneakers.
On more formal occasions, she will wear a white long-sleeved dress shirt, long black formal pants and black dress shoes, and she will generally keep her ears and tail exposed as the formal events in which she attends are usually confined to the Schwarzer family and their connections.

Ki is a very kind-hearted and cheerful girl, always more than willing to help anyone that needs it. She is always happiest around animals, especially dogs or baby animals of any kind. Though, she does show a little dislike towards her siblings, though it is not a strong feeling, she just doesn't like it when they remind her that she was the 'runt of the litter', as they put it, and thus she almost never attends any of her family's formal events.

Kiara Machias Schwarzer was born into a family of animal shifters. Ki, as she prefers to be called, was not born with this ability. Rather, she was granted the ability to communicate with animals, rather than take their form. Because of this, her siblings declared her the "runt of the litter". Her parents, on the other hand, weren't overly bothered by this. Because she was the youngest born, her natural abilities were unimportant. Still, this did not stop her older siblings from teasing her from time-to-time and showing off their shifting abilities.
Time passed, and Ki eventually acquired a veterinarian degree, and went on to open an animal shelter that also runs as a veterinarian surgery and an adoption center.
